#001: Make design speak business
Hey friends 👋
This is Balint from Balint Studio.
It’s been a while since my last issue, but for a good reason.
I’m introducing a new format of sharing my tips.
Starting from now:
Every Thursday, I share 3 quick product design tips for founders and designers.
3-2-1: Vamos!
1. Stop designing for designers. Start designing for results.
Don't stress about:
Social media likes
Following every new trend
Winning design awards
Do focus on:
How many people buy
Making things easy to use
Saving the company money
Pick what you're good at:
If you like numbers, learn to test designs
If you like planning, create design systems
If you like seeing results, make checkout, sign-up pages better
When your designs drive revenue, stakeholders listen. Simple as that.
2. Simple design tips that help businesses
Use social proof near pain points - testimonials can overcome objections
Let users experience 80% of your product's value within the first 5 minutes of use - first impressions matter
Let users do key tasks in 3 clicks or less - they'll love your app for it
Small changes, build up over time.
3. Go beyond fancy UI
Solve a real problem, users are attracted to painkillers, not vitamins
Make key actions really obvious and don’t assume they will get it
Show clear value in the first 30 seconds
Looks attract, but solutions convert.
My Favorite Thing this Week
🎨 Design - Read Family Values. Family is my top choice for its simplicity and smooth interactions. Their article on design and animations is a must-read.
That's all for now
